Automatic annotation track colouring

When attempting to 'Colour' an alignment 'By Annotation...' it automatically colours the alignment with the first annotation option, which is 'Conservation' from the drop down list. Although this is alright for most of the time, there is a severe delay when a large structure is attached to an also large alignment. The automatic colouring hangs for 10-15 seconds to catch up before I can select my option, also with a similar delay as it needs to colour and map. Would be good to have an option to have automatic colouring switched on or off. Otherwise discard the default option to colour instantly, and only colour upon first selection of an item on the drop down list when opening the 'By Annotation...' window the first time round.
