large numbers of feature groups causes feature rendering to become sluggish

      Description


      When several tens of feature groups exist on the alignment, feature rendering becomes slow. This is perceptible with the embedded applet on the influenza research database (www.ird-dev.org/brc/tree.do?decorator=influenza&method=RetrieveResults&ticketNumber=TR_907448443738#) and also exhibited by the application when the same data is imported.
