Opening the jalview release channel JVL file with Jalview doesn't return the installation to release channel

      Description

      1. Download and install Jalview.
      2. Open the application and verify it is on the release channel.
      3. Download and open the JVL file with the installed Jalview application to for an older version of Jalview - e.g. https://www.jalview.org/old/v2_11_3_0/jalview-v2_11_3_0.jvl
      4. Download the release channel JVL file:
      https://www.jalview.org/getdown/release/1.8/channel_launch-release.jvl
      5. Opening the release channel JVL file with the Jalview application.

      This should return the application to the release channel, but on OSX using 2.11.4.0's installer, this doesn't seem to happen.
