Description
More of a moan than a bug, as I just have to change installation place. Still it goes against unix-way of installing software.
After installing the new jalview 2.11 system-wide in /opt (done as superuser) the program hangs when opened by a user due to its auto-updating kicking in (for which it would not have permissions because jalview won't have root-permissions required). The auto-updater breaks work-flow and forces that jalview can only be installed per user basis. A comparable auto-updating system caused me to keep Fiji-ImageJ somewhere else where it won't give this same hassle.
