Description
If you try and launch directly the Jalview.app found in the Jalview Installer DMG volume in macOS then getdown fails because it is in a non-writable directory.
Whilst there are other options to fixing this, it is not desirable to launch from the DMG volume.
The symptoms are not enlightening to the user: an empty getdown splashscreen appears but then does nothing.
It would be easy enough to detect when being launched from the DMG volume (e.g. look at the path to the JVM being used and check if it starts "/Volumes/Jalview Installer") before the getdown splashscreen appears, and an error window could appear instead (telling the user to drag and drop the Jalview application into the blue Applications folder).
