resize old overview image on overview geometry change before redrawing

In 2.10.2, changing the size overview window leaves part of the original image in place but shown greyed out, and clipped to the new boundaries. Instead, the original buffer could be shown rescaled to the new size so it remains useful whilst the new overview is computed.
