Improve user controls for 'show features on structure' (Select on structure view from regions of interest (ie selection) from Jalview)

Arising from prototype that computes peptide variants from Ensembl variants.
Would like more user-friendly ways to show this on the structure viewer than:
- open Feature Settings, select sequence_variant, move to the top
- double-click on feature name to select columns with variants
- somehow either highlight this (e.g. Chimera show side-chains) or make it a selection in the structure viewer (so operations can be performed on it)
