slow to open alignments when local network connectivity is poor

Dynamic service discovery seems to be blocking the opening of new alignment windows when jalview first starts up. 2.6 will have better configuration capabilities to let the user control which services they want to find, but the UI also needs to be threaded correctly so the discovery is completely asynchronous to viewing the alignment, since typically, the user will want to view the data before they do something with it.
