Description
Mutation scanning experiments typically result in a vector of outcomes for a particular site, with one element for each residue replaced. These are commonly visualised as heatmaps or other forms of tabular layouts, where the vertical axis are the different mutation categories.
In addition to extension of Jalview's annotation rendering system to support these kind of data, support for common types of variant files (beyond VCF) could also be added. Most simply that could be a two column table of HGVS protein or nucleic acid mutations (e.g. p.Cys123Arg), and a reported value.
