precompute or thread off and adapt ui pattern for long running calculations when opening selection menus

The sequence ID popup menu includes several submenus that are dynamically populated based on current selection. Where possible, these calculations need to be made sublinear in size of selection (sequences and or columns), or the UX pattern redesigned to avoid blocking the UI thread when opening the popup menu for alignments with 10^4+sequences.
