      Prompted by discussion in https://discourse.jalview.org/t/svg-export-insert-space-to-materialize-hidden-columns-other-details/1996/2

      Rather than indicate the presence of hidden columns as a blue triangle and line, instead, use negative space, which is a more effective visual channel for communicating discontinuities.
