Adapt JSlider to handle negative and floating point values

      Description

      Swing's JSlider is designed for integer values only, and also fails to display correctly with negative values in some Look and Feels.
      Extend this class to provide this capability, and also encapsulate "percentage value" slider functionality (and, in future, log value).
