Sequences disappear when reducing height of alignment view

Import an alignment and show annotation. Resize view to about where the annotation rows start - the sequences are no longer visible.

Try using the horizontal scroll bar - the sequence data appears, but the sequence IDs do not. Resizing the view but maintaining the height makes the sequence panel disappear again.

This is even worse when working with a linked CDS/Protein view.

Possible fix is via JAL-2854 - which tweaked the annotation panel resize logic when new annotation was added.
