Description
Hi Andrew
Another minor feature request whilst I am using Jalview: Would it be
possible to have an option (eg in View) to right align the name label text.
This would be tidier for cases where the lengths of labels vary greatly.
This brings up a more general point about whether a feature could be extra
columns for annotations. For example, it might be nice to have separate
columns (with their own formatting control) for items like species,
description text or sequence range that can be placed between the name and
sequence. Or even arbitrarily to left, right or both sides of the sequence.
Conceptually, this is a vertical equivalent to the horizontal row feature
you have for sequence features/annotations.
It also opens a can of worms about how you might enable a parsing function
to extract such annotations from a single fasta file. Or maybe you just
couldn't ...
Andrew.
****** ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ******
yes it is a can of worms
