Jalview sometimes freezes when repainting both alignment and Chimera structure

      Description

      Reported by Geoff, working with an alignment of 292 protein sequences.
      Project file saves a state with two sequences linked to respective Chimera instances.
      Load project and try Select/Hide Columns by Annotation.
      Choose Consensus (or Occupancy in the latest branch), Above Threshold.
      Click to move the threshold slider.
      Jalview hangs.
