Description
1. Import an alignment of ~9000 sequences.
2. Create a new view with CMD/CTRL T - no visual delay is shown, but Jalview hangs until the new view is materialised.
3. Hide most of the sequences in one view (leaving around 100).
4. Switch between the two views, Jalview quickly shows the view with small number of sequences, but again hangs with no visual delay when the other view is selected.
A visual delay is needed to warn the user that Jalview is busy, at the very least. The cause of the delay also needs to be tracked down, since it's not clear why it takes so long to open the larger view (perhaps a calculation is being performed before the view is rendered ?)
