Drag and drop URL from browser to jalview (windows) fails with 'Unsupported file format'

      Description

      1. try to drag this link http://www.jalview.org/tutorial/unaligned.fa to an opened instance of the Jalview desktop.
      2. See dialog explaining supported formats, and saying that the file at "///....//.../...url" couldn't be loaded.

      Related to JAL-1552 but problem is Windows platform specific and was unaffected by the existing patches for OSX.
