Description
Jalview users on OSX cannot simply launch Jalview via webstart, due to a mismatch between the way browsers work with the OSX Gatekeeper to verify downloaded JNLP files. This means that whilst users cannot launch Jalview without an 'Unidentified developer' warning appearing by clicking on this link: http://www.jalview.org/webstart/jalview.jnlp - they can launch it if they type 'javaws http://www.jalview.org/webstart/jalview.jnlp' into a terminal.
We need to come up with solutions that allow Jalview to be launched by a single mouse click on every platform without security warnings. The solution needs to also support data import from third-party sites via the launchApp service.
