Description
Jalview has the capacity to submit and track any number of per-sequence analysis predictions, such as those produced by secondary structure (e.g. Jpred) or disorder predictors (e.g. via the JABAWS 2.0 sequence analysis client), or any number of sequence associated annotation rows imported from some other data source (e.g. DSSP/Annotate3d assignments from PDB, or something else).
At the time of writing, sequence associated annotation rows like secondary structure are shown in the annotation panel - and all annotation is shown for all sequences. The user can interactively delete, hide or show an individual row and otherwise manipulate the display order, but this is not sufficient when dealing with more than a few rows. New functionality is needed to support the user when viewing associated data of this kind - other tools cope with sequence associated tracks by showing then below the sequence in the alignment, and Jalview 2.8 can do this to some extent with the per-sequence annotation colouring mechanism, but more functionality is needed.
