Description
Jalview's DAS support was designed to allow access to third-party sequence and annotation sources. Since the retirement of the DAS system, Jalview users need to be provided with a replacement that provides similar functionality.
This system needs to allow:
1. Users to add, enable, disable, or otherwise modify a standard set of database resources to query for data about database accessions.
2. Developers to create and disseminate clients for their services (as groovy scripts or otherwise).
3. Queries to be performed in batch mode as well as interactively.
4. Queries to be performed at scale.
