link checker can't parse anchor names that break over multiple lines

The link checker will not parse anchors like:

    If you use this service in your work, please cite :<br /> <a
      name="shmrref" /> Brandt, B.W.*, Feenstra, K.A*. and Heringa, J.

this means that builds are easily broken by reformatting help html pages.
