output/input of pairwise sequence similarity matrix

its often useful to obtain the pairwise similarity matrix for use in other programs. A friendly fileformat is needed to export the matrix generated when jalview calculates a tree, pca, and other PID calculations. It would also be useful to be able to import such a matrix so Jalview could use it to calculate a UPGMA, NJ tree or PCA plot.
